How We Work

coop

ko͞op,ko͝op/ : a business or organization that is owned and operated by the people who work there or the people who use its services

We share and hold space together.

We are a pop up collective working in a cooperative model.  This means that each creative is not only invested in selling their own work, but the works of other artists and creatives alike.

  • Nubian Hueman will provide artists with the necessary fixtures (eg. racks, tables, etc.)  and hangers to display work.  Visual artists are responsible for providing materials to display work during their installation.  All artists are responsible for installation of their work.
  • A Nubian Hueman team member with let each Co/op Leader in and out of the space and register system.
  • All purchases must be made through the Nubian Hueman register and will be paid out at the conclusion on August 20, 2017 via PayPal or bank check.
  • Personal transactions and/or selling is prohibited and is a violation of our co/op agreement.
  • The coverage schedule will be scheduled on a first come/first serve basis via Doodle.  Each artist will be responsible for covering their shift.  No substitutions allowed.
  • All work will be covered under the Anacostia Art Center’s insurance policy which can be furnished upon request.
  • All events must be scheduled and approved by Nubian Hueman and will require a Nubian Hueman team member to be present.
  • Please note:  Nubian Hueman is not responsible for the outcome of sales for any vendor or artist.  We recommend being in the space to best promote your work.
