Madam C.J. Walker (1867-1919) was an African American philanthropist, entrepreneur, and activist. She was the first black woman millionaire in America. After suffering from hair loss Madam C.J. Walker built an empire selling hair care products. Her philanthropic endeavors include donating a lot of money to NAACP, the Indianapolis YMCA, and more.
